Dr. Barry Meatyard

Dr. Barry Meatyard is an independent education consultant specialising in policy and practice for gifted and talented science students. He has extensive practical experience of education ranging from individual school to national policy levels. He taught in two high performing independent schools in England, before working on Teacher Training and Professional Development Programmes at the University of Warwick. For five years he was one of the directors at the National Academy for
Gifted and Talented Youth, also at Warwick. He is a chartered biologist and member of the Society of Biology and author of a number of publications. His background is in botany but he has a passion and enthusiasm for all things biological and scientific, and the ways in which they are communicated to students of all ages.
